REAL MILES, REAL MOM, NO FILTER

When 2.5 Miles Turns Into 6+ Miles

The day started with a simple text to my BFF…

The plan? A nice little 2.5-mile hike.

Apparently, my ability to stick to a hiking plan is about as reliable as my ability to walk into Target for one thing.

That 2.5-mile hike somehow turned into just over 6 miles.

And you know what? I loved it.

There’s something about being outside that makes the miles feel different. Fresh air, trees, trails, and just being able to move without staring at a treadmill screen wondering how 47 seconds somehow lasted six minutes.

A year ago, I probably wouldn’t have willingly signed up for six miles. Today, I accidentally did them.

And that feels pretty damn good.

I’m learning that this journey doesn’t always have to be about workouts, numbers, or forcing myself to exercise. Sometimes it’s simply about finding something that gets me moving that I actually enjoy.

For me, being outside is becoming one of those things.

The plan was 2.5 miles.

The result was 6+ miles.

No complaints here. ❤️

Real miles. Real mom. No filter.
