Day 50 of 70.
We made it to Day 50!
Today’s schedule wasn’t nearly as crazy as some of my recent days, which was a nice change.
We started the morning by taking my daughter to get her nails done. Afterward, I surprised the family and stopped to grab everyone some lunch.
Then it was time to get moving.
8 Minutes On, 3 Minutes Off
After lunch, I headed to the park for my run.
Today’s plan was simple:
Run for 8 minutes. Walk and recover for 3 minutes. Repeat.
I kept that pattern going for almost 4 miles.
With the six-hour endurance event officially on the calendar, I’m trying to focus more on building endurance and getting comfortable spending longer periods of time on my feet. I’m learning that walking isn’t failing a run. Those recovery periods let me reset, catch my breath, and get ready to go again.
I probably could have kept going, but mom life had other plans.
It was time to head home and get my son to football practice.
An Empty House Means Another Workout
When I got home, my husband and daughter were getting ready to head out on the motorcycle.
I took my son to football practice, and afterward I found myself in a very unusual situation.
I was home alone.
Well… almost.
I had the dog and cat supervising me.
I could have taken advantage of the quiet house and planted myself on the couch. Believe me, the thought crossed my mind.
Instead, I opened up Gravl and decided to finish the day with a strength workout at home.
Apparently running almost four miles wasn’t enough punishment for one day. 😂
But that’s what I’m loving about this challenge. Exercise is slowly becoming something I work into my day instead of something I have to completely rearrange my life around.
Today wasn’t some huge adventure.
It was family time, almost four miles at the park, football practice, and a strength workout at home.
And that’s more than enough for me.
Day 50 complete. Only 20 days to go. 💪🩷
Real miles. Real mom. No filter.
