Day 59 of 70.
Today was one of those days when I knew fitting in my workout was going to be a challenge.
Between work and my son’s football game, there wasn’t exactly a giant empty space on the calendar waiting for me to exercise.
Luckily, I was able to get out of work a little early.
And I wasn’t wasting that opportunity.
Straight to the park I went.
One Hour. 4.14 Miles.
I knew I didn’t have all afternoon, so today’s goal was simply to make the most of the time I had.
And I did.
4.14 miles in exactly one hour.
It was a pretty good run, and I felt good about the pace.
There was just one little problem…
IT WAS HOT.
Really hot.
By the time I finished, I’m pretty sure you could retrace my entire route around the park by following the trail of sweat drops I left behind. π
Apparently I was providing my own hydration system for the pavement.
But sweaty or not, I got those 4.14 miles done.
No Time to Sit Around
Once I finished at the park, it was straight back home.
I had just enough time to knock out my 50 sit-ups, jump in the shower, get cleaned up, and head right back out the door for my son’s football game.
That’s real life.
Some days I can spend hours hiking through the woods.
Some days I can take my time at the gym or add another mile just because I’m feeling good.
And then there are days like today.
You find the opening in your schedule and you use it.
I could have easily looked at everything I had going on today and decided there wasn’t enough time.
Instead, I found an hour.
And today, that hour was enough.
4.14 miles. 50 sit-ups. Day 59 done.
And now I am officially in the final stretch.
Day 59 complete. Only 11 days to go. πͺπ©·
