Not Another Mother Runner

REAL MILES, REAL MOM, NO FILTER

Day 61 of 70.

It seems like busy days aren’t the exception anymore.

They’re just normal life right now.

Today was another one of those days where I knew exactly what needed to happen when I got home from work.

There was no sitting down.

No relaxing for a few minutes.

No telling myself I’d work out later.

I needed to get that workout done and under my belt immediately because the rest of the evening was already packed.

The plan was to work out, pick up my race packet for tomorrow, and then head to the high school football game where my son is the team’s ball boy.

Oh, and about that race tomorrow…

I’m doing something a little crazy.

You’ll have to stay tuned for that one. 😏

Let’s See What Last Night’s Storm Did

For today’s workout, I decided to run around my neighborhood.

We had some pretty nasty storms come through last night, and I wanted to see how everything held up.

The answer?

A lot of trees came down.

So today’s run became part workout, part neighborhood storm-damage tour.

But apparently dodging downed trees is good motivation because I had one hell of a run.

46 minutes, 26 seconds.

2.87 miles.

And…

TWO NEW PRs! 🎉

I set a new personal record for my fastest mile AND my fastest half mile.

I went into today’s workout simply trying to squeeze in a run before everything else I had to do.

I came out of it faster than I’ve ever been.

I’ll take that.

Well… That Didn’t Go According to Plan

After my run, I headed out to pick up my race packet.

At least that was the plan.

I didn’t make it in time.

Apparently my recent streak of plans going exactly as intended continues. 😂

Nothing I could do about it at that point, so it was time to move on to the next thing.

We headed to the high school football game.

The team fought hard tonight but unfortunately came up short.

Still, I love being there and watching my son be part of the team as their ball boy.

Tomorrow Is Race Day

Now I’m finally home.

The workout is done.

Another challenge day is complete.

And somehow, despite an already packed evening, I walked away with two new personal records.

Not bad for a Friday night.

But now it’s time to wind down and get some rest because…

Tomorrow is race day.

And like I said earlier, I’m doing something a little crazy.

You’ll find out soon enough. 😏

Day 61 complete. 9 days to go. 💪🩷

Real miles. Real mom. No filter.
